Pa's Haircut

Pa gets his haircut in Marshall. Howard Horton has been cutting hair for a VERY long time. He is 91 years young (will be 92, Dec. 1st). He and my Pa have the best time! Rarely, I get to sit in on these moments. I didn't have a real camera with me, just my phone, so please excuse the poor photography.

This banjo was Howard's father's. His father worked for a blacksmith and traded two "hack wheels" for it. It wasn't new when he traded for it, so Mr. Horton estimates it to be "over a hunderd year old".
Here are some other "relics" in Mr. Horton's shop.

Oh, and just so you know, he didn't begin using electric clippers until sometime in the 1960's or later.
Happy hair clipping!
